What Was The Most Popular Car In The 1960s – In honor of Earth Day, the folks at Toro contacted me to tell me about the growing popularity of electric vehicles on shared platforms. For the uninitiated, Toro is a site that allows people to rent out their cars when they’re not using them — and yes, that includes insurance if the renter does something they shouldn’t. In addition, the cars people drive, and the cars they share, are electric. In fact, Toro’s EV supply grew 1.5 times faster than hybrids or conventional cars in 2017 and 1.6 times in 2018. Demand growth is slowing slightly, but EV demand is still growing 1.4 times faster than hybrids and 1.4 times faster than conventional cars.
It’s no giveaway that much of this growth is from people adding Teslas to the platform and people alike looking for Teslas to rent. In 2014, there were only 67 Teslas available for lease at Toro. At the time of writing, the company told me there are now 6,000 Teslas on site.
What Was The Most Popular Car In The 1960s
As we saw in January, the most popular vehicle to rent at Toro last year was the Jeep Wrangler, and for 2018 none of the top five rented vehicles were batteries. But the Model S was in sixth place at the time, with the Model X in tenth and the new Model 3 behind. “It’s interesting to see how popular electric cars have become in the last year,” explained Toro CEO Andre Haddad. “The Model 3 was only shown last spring, then took off over the summer as more people got their cars. And in the fourth quarter of 2018, the Model 3 eclipsed the Model X.” (Hadad also has a Model S, Model X, and Model 3, all of which are leased on this platform.)

Haddad draws some insight into the growing popularity of the BEV on the Touro. “Analysis, we noticed that electric cars continue to be more expensive than an internal combustion car, so the economic reality for deployment is correct. Haddad believes two factors come into play when it comes to people using Troy to rent electric cars. “There are people who already drive an electric car at home and are traveling to where they need a car, and they can easily get an electric car in Troy than anywhere else.” We’re in a different position compared to traditional rental car buyers,” he said. “The other segment is people who are considering buying an electric car and transitioning, and those who use Tru on weekends or longer test drives during the week.
