It’s time to decide on wedding planning! For some it comes naturally, for others it is difficult to figure out who to invite and what color bridesmaid dress to order. And while some of these decisions are easier, I always have the same dilemma: to wear my hair up on my wedding day or not?

The reasons are pretty obvious: you want your hairstyle to last overnight, 8 or maybe 12 hours. You also want it to withstand any conditions, especially the fickle Irish climate. And if you’re afraid of the rain, think of the wind! Irish winds tend to pick up immediately and change the outlook for any landing within minutes. If you don’t mind a romantic, adventurous, breezy look, then go for it! However, if you’re going for a more sophisticated and elegant look, the luxury style is definitely a safer bet.
Of course, a lot depends on the type of hair. Hazel has incredibly thick locks, so it would be a crime not to flaunt them on her wedding day. Hazel’s hair was combed and curled this morning. The second photo was taken just before dinner, 6 hours later, the hairstyle looks more natural and loose, but I still haven’t seen a strand of hair all day! It looked absolutely perfect. Clare, on the other hand, has softer hair, which is perfect for her dynamic Dublin wedding. Even the subtle details of her dress catch the eye.
If you’re still undecided, there’s always half price. I think this is one of the most popular options these days. It’s great if you still want to show off those curls but want to keep your hair out of your face! I have to say it makes a good gift for group photos on a windy day. It also means no pins to your head and you can party all night without worrying about pins flying everywhere!
Then of course there is personal preference. When it came to my wedding day, I had a dilemma for a long time. I usually leave my hair open – I have absolutely no use for styling my hair, so the best I can do is brush it out quickly! I would like to say that I have perfect curls and lush curls that flow in waves. That would just be a huge lie! My hair takes an absolute age to curl, but it only takes 30 minutes to get it into that perfect blah shape.
Even though I wanted to rock those Hollywood waves, I went with safe hyperbole on my wedding day. I’m glad I did – the wind was strong enough to knock down the lanterns in our outdoor parade! I can’t even imagine what my hair will look like when I walk up the aisle! Also, my husband always tells me how much he loves seeing me with my hair, so he was totally happy!

But a few years later, I got the chance to try my hair up and down in a stylish photo shoot with my husband and friend Jasna Pasalic.
