How To Put Your Hair Up In A Ponytail

How To Put Your Hair Up In A Ponytail – Removing hair using a tie is easy and convenient. But if you’re not careful, a rubber band can easily damage your hair. I wear my hair up 90% of the time as it helps maintain length. Since I work with patients with upper respiratory conditions such as Covid-19, I like to keep my hair off my face and shoulders as much as possible. I’ve been doing my hair for as long as I can remember. But when I decided to wear my hair natural in 2013, I also decided to only style my hair when it came to styling safely. Whether it’s braids, twists, weaves and a wig, I do it all myself. Today I want to share with you how to safely put your hair in a bun!

And in this tutorial I’m using my favorite hair ties from Teleties. In the photos you can see them around my wrist. I love these headbands not only because they don’t mess in my hair but because I can wear them as bracelets for a fashion statement. If you play sports or train a lot, they can quickly become your favourite.

The first step to braiding hair is, of course, clean hair. It is better to start with freshly washed hair.

The third step is to remove the hair with a depilatory brush. I like the one you see in the picture, can be used as a front comb and is perfect for thick hair like mine.

The fourth stage is to comb the hair with an ordinary brush. But before combing hair, you need to add styling gel. Adding hair wax to the edges will not only make your hairstyle last longer, but it will also look neater.

Step Five – Gather your hair and hold it with one hand to prepare for the tie. It is better to already have a rubber band on your wrist like I have in the picture. This way you can pull it up and wrap it around your hair. Twist the headband before wrapping it around your hair a second time.

The last step is to brush the hair with your fingers to ensure that the pouf is nice and tidy. Remember when I talked about my love of velvet style a few weeks ago?! How do you wear velvet in your hair?! Share it with us in the comments or tag us on Instagram, we’d love to see it!! I never thought I’d see nail clips back in style back in the day. You are? Now I even give tutorials on 5 ways to style nail clips! Wow I remember going on a field trip in elementary school to meet my “pen pal” and everything was planned…I would wear my hair in a nice French clip. Well let’s say my mom had a different idea and put my hair in 2 high braids instead. Miracle miracle! My hair dreams were interrupted that day. It’s okay mom, I forgive you.

You Can Keep Your Hair Up All Day

Now I’m in control of how I style my hair (; I’m taking full advantage of the clip-in trend. I wear them both at home (let’s face it, letting my hair down with a toddler isn’t my first choice) and when I’m on the go. Clip-ins are super easy to use and really trendy, so take advantage of them while you still can!

All these styles that I am going to share are very simple. Anyone, and I mean anyone, can do this. The best part is that the styles look cute, both dirty and modern. You really can’t screw it up.

The first style is the simplest. Pull your hair half up, add a clip and BOOM. Your hair is out of your face and you look very stylish.

This is styling option 1. Pull your hair half way up and then twist your hair into a ponytail. You then take the twisted ponytail up and fold it in half and secure it with a clip.

To do this, pull all your hair back, twist the ponytail and pull it up. Then add a clip and hang up the excess hair. Finished! So easy, right?

This style is similar to style 2, but instead of half way, we pull it up.

Now let me tell you a little secret. If you’re struggling to make your hair stand up in either of these last two styles… you need to try this one!

Start with a low ponytail and then create your regular high ponytail. To do this, part the hair above the ponytail, flip the ponytail up and back and pull it out. Then continue with each style as usual. This will help keep the style tight and secure, and prevent it from loosening and falling out. For our final style, we pull our hair into a low bun and instead of securing it with a rubber band, we use a clip! This one is super chic and super cute.
