How To Put Layered Hair In A Ponytail – It’s been over 5 years since I cut my hair like this. When I was in high school, I went to this trade school (BOCES) during the second half of the day for nail esthetics and technology (I got my license as opposed to my esthetic major). My makeup teacher is also a makeup school teacher and knows everything about it. One day she told us that she pulled out all her hair and cut it crosswise. I thought, there is no better way to save your hair from dying! And to be honest, I forgot about it. Then one day, after I quit my job at the barbershop, I had to cut my hair. I’ve cut my hair many times, but mostly it’s straight down. I’m layered now (I need it, I have really thick hair) so I immediately thought of my teacher. I mean it
Beauty is a school teacher, so she must know what she’s talking about! I told myself I’d give it a try to see if it broke (I can always get it professionally fixed) and if it worked, I’d do more. I did it holding my breath in fear… and it was my best layered look ever! I don’t believe it! After I showed it to my sister she said she wanted it and we had people almost everywhere asking where we got our hair done! Honestly, I will never get a professional haircut again after doing this.

Start brushing your hair. Then you want to pull it together (I tied it in a ponytail so it wouldn’t move, but it wasn’t necessary), and bring it over your head. The lower the ponytail, the longer the layers and the higher the ponytail, the shorter the layers. If you are going to wear your hair too high you may need to trim the bottom to match, as they are usually longer than the top and you don’t want it to look messy!!! I usually go to the center. Finally, once you’ve pulled your hair straight, make sure it’s even, then pull it forward and cut straight! I know it sounds scary, but remember, my beauty teacher told me so! And compliments on my hair tell me it worked! Start like me…with a low ponytail and some bangs. 🙂

Lately, beauty-loving TikTokers have been getting our hands on the ‘perfect ponytail’ trick, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. As the weather warms, most of us go for a low-maintenance, cool look, and the high ponytail is always a winner. While celebrity hairstylists and beauty influencers only need a few moments to do their nails, getting a bouncy, voluminous ponytail is no easy task.
Breezy Medium Length Layered Haircuts Women Love Having
There are hundreds of ponytail hacks on TikTok, but Kirstie Holick (The.bridalist, hair tips, and super-following app) shows her followers how to get a flat ponytail that’s gone viral. or incomplete. The best part is that it’s just easy smoothing, no bobby pins, hair ties (hairstyling elastics) or delicate haircuts or product application required. Even better, it can be adjusted according to your hair type, be it thick, fine or anywhere in between; You won’t need as long as Rapunzel to make it work.
The perfect ponytail hack is easy. First, you’ll need bobby pins, but depending on the look you’re going for, you can use a simple hair tie. Use a paddle brush such as the Denman Large Paddle Styling Brush to style your hair. Then take a kitten and wrap its hair twice.
Use your free hand to separate the ponytail into two sections before pulling a third time. Turn your head halfway and tie the end of your ponytail under your ponytail. This will leave the top half of your hair free, but flip it upside down and pull your fingers up from the bottom to secure it.
What you get is a voluminous ponytail that doesn’t fall over time. Depending on the smoothness and finish you want to achieve, you can pull the hair around your face in small sections or trim individual strands to create a framing effect.

My hair is very thick and gravity affects any updo I wear throughout the day, especially in a ponytail, so I was eager to try it out. Surprisingly, it’s not as hard as you might think and I did it on the second try. My scrunchie was too small the first time, but I ended up using the larger silk version, which gave me a gorgeous Ariana Grande high pony. I can guarantee that it works well on medium hair, and thanks to the extra support at the bottom, my ponytail lasts much longer than a normal updo.
I’ve found that this hack works better on wet hair than on freshly washed hair, as any hairstyle requires a certain grip. However, a dry shampoo like Batiste Dry Shampoo Original Clean & Classic or a spray with a sticky texture like Ouidad Going Up. A volumizing texture spray or Christine S Dry Finish Work Texture Spray at the roots, lengths and ends will provide just the right amount of hold.
Considering how easy and effective it is, I’m going to ditch my straight hair this summer and get more bangs. Kirsty’s 1.7 million viewers will probably do the same.
