The older I get, the more I look for easy solutions in beauty treatments. My three-minute makeup application consisting of three products is still valid. This means that regular care of my hair is quick and easy. You all know that I really like side braids or loose waves. But sometimes I don’t have the time or the patience to do it all. That’s why you’ve noticed that I’ve been pulling my hair back a lot lately.

I was first asked to put my hair up in a low, elegant bun thanks to Eddie Blair. It has a voice, face and appearance.

. I loved and followed him for years for a reason. His style is second to none. But I guess she’s also tired of constantly “styling” her hair, because for several years she has been perfecting a lazy bun in the back. She even published a complete guide on how to do this amazing hairstyle.

But unfortunately, Blair has long beautiful hair and I have short hair. Don’t get me wrong, you all know I love my short hair! However, getting it all back without flying little bits and pieces can be tricky. It took me a while to figure out how to make a low, sleek back bun on my short hair. Taking from Blair’s technique and adding a few of my own, I came up with my own lesson. It only takes a few minutes but lasts all day without touch-ups.

My morning routine usually consists of a shower, hair and makeup. But on days when I want a thick, low bun, I just partially blow dry my hair to keep it a little damp. Or I’ll start with dry hair that fell out a few days ago. The only thing that matters is that my hair is straight, parted in the middle, not freshly twisted or braided.

I put a good amount of hair cream or oil on my hand (I like Dae’s Lovely Cactus Fruit 3in1 hair cream and I also use Function of Beauty hair oil) and spread it on my hands. Starting from the ends, I apply the cream along the entire length and slowly work my way to the roots. The serum helps smooth out hair loss and prepares it for the next stage.

I’ve tried this hairstyle a million times using a regular brush and/or detangling comb, but nothing works better than a boar bristle brush. Several boar bristle brushes are available, such as the $85 DryBar. I found this boar bristle brush at Whole Foods for $7 and it does the job perfectly. No, it’s not perfect. Perhaps I would personally recommend upgrading to the $30 version instead.

A boar bristle brush is made of natural boar bristle and a wooden or synthetic backing. Its bristles have a unique texture that helps evenly distribute the skin’s natural oils throughout the hair. This feature makes boar bristle brushes ideal for slicked back hair like my bun as they detangle frizzy hair and distribute products evenly throughout the hair without damaging or creating static electricity for a smooth and polished look.

An important part of the loose low bun tutorial is to style your hair backwards. The biggest advantage of a boar bristle brush is that it thoroughly cleans the hair. It adapts well to the head and with the help of the hair serum stops all these hair loss. Once I’ve gathered my hair back and it’s smooth and flat, I tie it into a low ponytail with a rubber band.

To create a bun shape, I simply twist my hair at the base of the ponytail and wrap it with an elastic band. Then I take a crochet hair tie (I use it from Amazon and it will change your life!) and wrap it around my new bun.

I repeat: I have short hair, so the amount of hair coming out of the bun will depend on the length of the hair. Hopefully, a hair serum, a boar brush, and a tight curl will help break up as much hair as possible. But if someone escapes, don’t worry… that’s the next step.

Wherever the hair flutters, I fasten it with hairpins as often as possible. Now, with my short hair, it is almost impossible to get all the hair back. And that suits me. Similar to my French curling lesson, as long as the top and sides of my hair are pulled back into a dry, low bun, I don’t mind if it’s a little imperfect.

After securing the bun, I spray all parts with hairspray to keep the hair in place. If the strands are still scattered on the top of the head and on the sides of the head, I apply a little serum or styling cream to my hands and gently pull them off. So this is it!

Buns are a beautiful hairstyle and just because you have short hair doesn’t mean you have to give up a beautiful bun. We are usually very busy on weekdays and go out on weekends. We often struggle with the heat, use a lot of styling products and always try to look great every day. First, gather all the hair at the back of your head and tie it tight and securely into a low ponytail. No matter how short your hair is, it will definitely work if your hair can form a ponytail at the back of your head.

Whether you want to add a little spice or create your own bun for a special occasion, you can comb your hair left or right.

If you want your hairdo to look messy, gently comb the ponytail while pulling it out. This will make the bun look messy and add volume.

Take a small section of hair from the ponytail and curl it under the elastic. Secure tips that won’t last long with Bobby hairpins. Continue taking small strands of ponytail and pinning them up until you’ve baked all your hair and you’ve got a messy bun. Then make sure all ends are well secured.
