These articles often feature a photo shoot taken during a typical workday, meaning unsuspecting employees give us a peek into their everyday wardrobes.

From this photo, it looks like smart casual is the outfit of choice, which means you might want to go business casual (a notch) when interviewing on LinkedIn.
Everyone seems to be at least business casual, but most people are business formal (I see a lot of suit jackets and sport coats).
Also, places like The Muse profile companies where they show up at the office, take lots of photos, and interview current employees about what it’s like to work there.

Bottom line? Finding creative ways to get attention in the interviewer’s office is a great way to see how people show up to work every day.

What To Wear To (pretty Much) Every Occasion
In my experience, corporate/interview attire can be divided into three groups (this is just a high-level overview of each, we’ll give some specific examples for both genders).
Smart Casual: This style of dress is fun and light, but also professional. Options should be neutral and appropriate, but not too formal.
Business Casual: We’re not going to go full dress here, but we’re definitely on the more formal side compared to Smart Casual.
For boys, this usually means a sports coat, pants and leather shoes. For women, it’s a neutral top (blazer or sweater if needed), tailored dress pants, and dressy shoes or pumps.

Business Formal: This is your traditional conservative business look. Think bankers, lawyers, consultants, etc. We are talking about clothes and clothes for both sexes. That said, just because it’s formal doesn’t mean it doesn’t show off your personality!
