Bald Ladies Hairstyles – Coco Chanel said: “A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.” Muva tells the truth because shaving gives freedom and independence to most women.

It is especially difficult for women of color to choose to embrace this freedom because our culture favors long, thick hair. As soon as you tell your mom, sister, or teammates that you’re getting a haircut, they’ll look like someone died. For years it has been instilled in us that our hair represents our crown. This means that cutting your hair represents taking away from your glory.

Well, that’s over and because it’s a new year and we have the freedom to decide what our crown represents. From rocking 4C kinky hair to wearing a buzz, the choice is yours.

Celebrity Buzz Cuts To Inspire Your Next Haircut In 2022 — Photos

It has to be one of the most powerful moves a woman of color can make. Fortunately, there are some brave and beautiful women who unapologetically live and wear tropical hair with confidence and ease – here are their stories.

I decided to cut my hair in the summer of 2017 because my hair was very damaged and I was tired of my usual look. I also wanted to challenge myself to get rid of my hair because my hair was in my condition at the time. When I shaved my hair, I immediately fell in love with my haircut and felt like a reformed person. I felt free to be completely authentic. I break gender norms by embracing my hair.

Shaving my head reminds me that beauty is on the inside and not as long as your hair.

Hair is just an accessory that some choose to rock more than others. Hair is not necessary for me; it’s more like jewelry. Regardless of how people choose to rock their hair, the buzz doesn’t have to be associated only with men. Buzz cuts are a unisex hairstyle.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley Reveals She Has Alopecia, Debuts Bald Head

My first post was in July 2012 and I haven’t looked back since. I had beautiful hair growing up and was always told, “You can’t be beautiful without hair,” or “your hair is what makes you.” I never understood how hair defines a person, and it made me sick, so I went to the nearest barber and told him to go get it.

I just tried to dye my hair gray after being blonde for months, and magically it turned pink… I have no idea or scientific explanation for that (laughs). But I decided to make a change and own a beautiful pink buzz by cutting it effortlessly!

@tumi_moliko Living in South Africa as a young black woman, I had to find creative ways to redefine the buzz in a way that best reflects my personality.

I dye my hair, shave letters into my hair, maybe add glitter if I’m in the mood; or sometimes I wake up and let my hair do what it does best, twisting it into a nice bun on top of my head. I picked up all the tools and cosmetics to wear, just to make up for my lack of hair, but now I’ve learned the truth about owning my buzz.

First, I have to fall in love with my authentic self, and then I have to let the world see my true self. Since then, owning your inspiration becomes effortless, yet very effective for my stay.

I realized that being in high school and cutting your hair is totally BAD because punishment is inevitable. Being able to overcome the fear of judgment has empowered me in many areas of life. I shaved my hair when I was 16 because I didn’t want my hair to be seen as part of me. I’m known as a hairstyle girl and my hair is always complimented.

Hair is praised in society and creates discrimination in many South African schools today. On the other hand, a woman who does not have hair (whether by choice or not) is judged by the majority of people because it is against the rules.

In the 10th grade, I started to feel like I didn’t belong. I felt like I was now made of physical things, including the cords growing out of my head. Then I decided to be brave and stood in front of the mirror, took a bottle and brushed all my hair. I have felt empowered, liberated and truly me ever since. Owning my buzz saw meant I was back to my true self. I wouldn’t trade the experience for the world.

Dazzling Fade Haircuts For Women To Try In 2023

@ShayGlam00 I chose to cut my hair as a way to express myself and gain more confidence.

Art is the solution for me. Cutting my hair is the best expression for me right now. Before I decided to cut my hair, I wasn’t feeling inspired. I’m anxious, I’m not focused and I’m very anxious. I felt like nothing was right, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I felt like I was wasting my talents, I felt like I wasn’t good enough, I lost myself and I didn’t care about the things I wanted. I have to get rid of this doubt and get out of this mindset. I went through some hard times in my life and the only thing that stayed with me was my hair. My hair is there when I’m sad, inspired, stressed, happy, energetic and stressed.

Art has always been a way to express myself. I’m always afraid of hair color and other types of creativity, but this time I want to cut it all off. So the night before I cut it while I slept, I sorted through all my feelings and all the doubts and all the reminders that kept me from wanting to become an adult. When I woke up that morning, I was determined to feel good, look good and live a good life. With every haircut I almost feel like a new person.

So now every time I cut my hair I have to rid my body, mind and spirit of all negative situations and start rejuvenating. To pull it off, I’m going to dye my hair a new color.

You have to be a strong and brave woman to scream. I do my work living in peace. Now my room is not the only place where I feel confident, I feel confident everywhere I go! I smile back at people who smile and look at me instead of looking at my phone or walking the other way. Baby, I own every room I walk into now.

I originally chose to cut all my hair off in 2009 to get rid of all the “good hair, bad hair” I had grown.

I know I’m not the only black girl who grew up telling people, “I have Indian in my family” just to show that my hair is better because I’m “mixed.”

I’ve cut and grown my hair many times since then, but this is the first time I want to do it! I love the attention I get when I walk into the space and people are amazed that my confidence is strong without hiding behind a bunch of hair. I serve a face! I even started an Instagram page @baldgirlmagic with the hashtag #BaldGirlMagic to celebrate beautiful, self-aware women like me. Whether you lost your hair due to chemotherapy or chose to shave it off, we are all part of this great club!

Bald Fade Haircuts For Inspiration On Your Next Barber Trip

Six years ago, when I started cutting hair, I didn’t know how I would be recognized. Losing my hair allowed me to discover my best self and gave me the confidence I needed to move through life faster.

I am proud of the woman I am and the woman I will become. I really don’t see myself getting any bigger!

It’s been almost 8 years since I cut my hair, the reason I cut it when I was 20 and I turned 21 is because weaves are expensive (laughs). I just want to try something new, I’m finally of legal drinking age.

My reason for keeping it was more than just saving money. I felt liberated, therefore open! I have nothing to hide behind.
